President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has retired all service chiefs with immediate effect, reports thegazellenews.com
Also affected by the retirement are the Inspector General of Police, the Controller General of Customs and all special advisers.
The President has also appointed former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu as the National Security Adviser.
New service chiefs have also been announced.
They are: Chief of Defence Staff, Major General CG Musa; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Epa Udiandeye; Chief of Army Staff, Major General TA Lagbaja; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral EA Ogalla; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall AV Abubakar; acting Inspector General of Police, DIG Kayode Egbetokun; and Adeniyi Bashir Adewale, acting Controller General of Customs.
The President has also approved the appointments of two additional Special Advisers, and two Senior Assistants, namely:
They are:
Hadiza Bala Usman Special Adviser, Policy Coordination; Hannatu Musa Musawa Special Adviser, Culture and Entertainment Economy;
Sen. Abdullahi Abubakar Gumel, Senior Special Assistant, National Assembly Matters Senate; and Hon. (Barr) Olarewaju Kunle Ibrahim, Senior Special Assistant, National Assembly Matters, House of Representatives.
It is to be noted that the appointed Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police and the Comptroller General of Customs are to act in their positions, pending their confirmation in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
