A serving female Senator in Nigeria, Senator Rose #Okoji Oko, is dead, The Gazelle News.com reports. She was aged 63.
The deceased Senator represented Cross River North Senatorial District in the Red Chamber. She was a second term Senator and until her death was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Trade and Investment, this medium learnt further.
The Gazelle News.com reports further that the female senator in the United Kingdom on Monday, 23 March, 2020 after a protracted illness described by a family member as “physical affliction”.
The late Senator was first elected into the National Assembly when she represented Yala/Ogoja Federal Constituency of Cross River in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Then she was the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Education.
