Super Falcons of Nigeria have qualified for the female football event of the summer Olympics in Paris, reports thegazellenews.com
On Tuesday, 9 April, 2024, the Super Falcons played a goalless draw with their South African counterparts, Banyana Banyana and qualified on 1-0 aggregate score having won the first leg played in Abuja on Friday, 5 April, 2024.
It was a cagey affair in Pretoria, but the Falcons proved to be the technically better team with Uchenna Kanu coming closest to breaking the deadlock in Pretoria but her effort from the right was deflected for a corner by a South African defender
Randy Waldrum’s tactical set worked especially in the first half but the Super Falcons failed to score, despite having the better chances.
Nigeria had two attempts on goal with one on target while Banyana Banyana had three attempts but none on target.
