The Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) reports The Gazelle News.com.
Until this new development, Matawalle was of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The news of his defection was broken by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Digital and New Media, Bashir Ahmad on his Facebook page, early Sunday, 27 June, 2021.
Ahmad wrote: “So Zamfara is back home. Welcome Mutawalle!
One of the media aides of the Governor confirmed to The Gazelle News.com that indeed the Governor has defected but that they are keeping it lowkey for now until his official announcement.
Matawalle is expected to officially announce his defection on Tuesday, 29 June, 2021.
