Chelsea Football Club of England are not willing to meet Brighton’s £100 million asking price for Moises Caicedo as progress in negotiations drag at a snail speed and both clubs have reached an impasse over the transfer fee for the Ecuador international, the Guardian reports.
The report claimed that Brighton are holding out for £100 million for Caicedo as they believe a ‘benchmark’ has been set by Arsenal’s £105 million deal with West Ham United for Declan Rice.
But Chelsea, however, hope an £80million proposal will be enough to secure an agreement with Brighton.
Chelsea have made Caicedo one of their top midfield targets this summer and have held extensive talks with Brighton over a deal for the midfielder.
Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino is keen to bolster his midfield options this summer with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante already out of Stamford Bridge.
