The confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in Nigeria has risen to 51 as at 11.35pm on Wednesday, 25 March, 2020, The Gazelle News.com reports.
Our correspondents monitoring the twitter handle of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), stated that five new cases were confirmed late Wednesday, 25 March, 2020.
Two new cases were confirmed in Lagos bringing the number of confirmed cases in the state to 32 while two more were confirmed in Abuja bringing the number of confirmed cases in the Federal Capital Territory to 10.
Rivers State on its part recorded its first confirmed case.
According to the NCDC, three of the new confirmed cases were returning travellers into Nigeria, while the other two were contacts of a previously confirmed case.
Of the 51 confirmed cases, 48 are active, two have been discharged while the country has recorded one death.
