The Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun on Friday, 17 November, 2023, commissioned a legacy project, executed by the Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira led administration of Itire Ikate Local Council Development Area.
The project, named after Nigeria’s First Lady and the immediate past Senator representing the Senatorial District, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is a structural edifice that houses an ultra- modern market, a customary court, a library and ICT centre. The structure, which is the second phase of the Akorede ultra modern market project, is situated at Ijesha bus stop, along Mile 2 Oshodi Expressway.
At the ceremony, the Chairman, in his keynote address, noted that the site on which the edifice stands used to be a dump site and haven of criminals. He informed further that after a diligent feasibility to appraise different options of what to do with the parcel of land, he afterward made up his mind to “attract wealth for my people” in Itire-Ikate.
In his remarks, the Senator commended the Chairman and his team for investing the LCDA fund so judiciously and prayed all business owners operating in the market will be prosperous.
Senator Eshilokun was accompanied to the function by some members of his working Committee, among whom were: Messrs Hakeem Adeniji, Gbenga Oyebode, Rasaq Lawal, Moroof Ojora and Rotimi Johnson.
Others are Mrs Bisi Sunmonu, Kunle Kadiri and Shina Ishola.
Honourable Akeem Bamgbola, former Chairman of the LCDA and a Commissioner in the state Local Government Service Commission was also part of the entourage of the Senator to the event.
Lots of APC leaders, led by the State Deputy Chairman, Hon. Moshood Mayegun, who represented the state Chairman; and the secretary, Hon. Jokomba, were also in attendance as well as an APC Apex leader Pa B.O. Adenekan
