President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new board and management team for the National Hajj Commission (NAHCOM), pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
One of the newly appointed members, according to a release by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, is the immediate pass Commissioner for Home Affairs in Lagos State, Anofiu Elegusi who is nominated as Commissioner in charge of Operations.
Others appointed by the President, apart from Elegusi, are: Jalal Arabi, Chairman (In Office);
Aliu Abdulrazaq, Commissioner, Policy, Personnel, & Finance; and Professor Abubakar A. Yagawal, Commissioner, Planning & Research.
The zonal representatives appointed are: Dr. Muhammad Umaru Ndagi, North Central; Abba Jato Kala, North East; Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman, North West; Tajudeen Oladejo Abefe, South West; Aishat Obi Ahmed, South East; Zainab Musa, South South; Professor Musa Inuwa Fodio, Jama’atul Nasril Islam; and Professor Adedimizi Mahfouz Adebola, Supreme Council on Islamic Affairs.
The President mandated the appointees to dedicate themselves to the task of ensuring that operations of the National Hajj Commission are more efficient, transparent, and responsive to the needs of Nigerians.
