The ancient town of Isolo, one of the major towns in Aworiland will soon have a new traditional ruler with the selection of Prince Jimmy Adetokunbo Yekini-Goloba by the town’s Kingmakers to ascend the throne of his forefathers, thegazellenews.com can exclusively report.
Sources told thegazellenews.com that the choice of Yekini-Goloba was unanimous among the four Kingmakers who screened all the 15 aspirants to the stool.
All the four Kingmakers who approved the selected Prince Jimmy Adetokunbo Yekini-Goloba were: Chief Mukaila Adesegun Agbabiaka who leads the Kingmakers and represents Jagun Aluko arm of the Kingmakers; Chief Rahman Mustapha aka Inufele who represents Afobaje Ogodo; Chief Rasak Onikosi of Osuro Kingmaker family; and Chief Saka Omotoba from Omotoba Kingmaker family.
Earlier, the four families which made up the Alagbeji Ruling House had set up their own screening committee which screened the aspirants and present their names to the Kingmakers. This screening committee was led by a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II between 2011 and 2015.
Prince Jimmy Adetokunbo Yekini-Goloba is the son of His Royal Majesty Yekini Goloba was the town’s monarch between 1988 and 2004.
The Osolo of Isolo-elected is a professional optician and had both his primary and secondary education in Isolo before going abroad for his Tertiary education.
He will succeed His Royal Majesty Kabiru Agbabiaka who joined his ancestors few months ago.
