The Chairman of Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Johnson Sunday Babatunde, is in the eyes of the storm, reports The Gazelle News.com.
Some members of the party in the council area have accused him of sponsoring and supporting another party’s councillorship candidate against the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This medium learnt that the APC candidate for Ward D in Orile Agege is Adeoye Wahab Alabi.
However, the Chairman and his group are not favourably disposed towards the party’s candidate, The Gazelle News.com learnt.
They allegedly decided to sponsor the candidate of their choice, Omotunde Afolabi Abdul Kareem, in another party, the Young Peoples Party (YPP).
This medium learnt further that also involved in the anti-party activities are members of the Obasa Movement, group loyal to the Speaker of the state Assembly, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa though it is not clear whether the Speaker is aware of this move and in support of the move.
Also reportedly involved in the alleged anti-party activities was one C M Ogunyemi, current Executive Secretary of the Agege Local Government Education Authority (LGEA).
All efforts to reach the Orile Agege Council Chairman proved abortive. He neither picked several calls from our correspondent nor respond to enquiries on his WhatsApp number.
