Two of the strongest chairmanship aspirants in Otto-Awori Local Council Development Area, Comrade Idris Olawale Raji and Rahman Olaosebikan Sulaiman aka Lagata, have agreed to work together as a team in Saturday, 29 May, 2021 primary election to pick candidates for the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the council elections coming up in July, The Gazelle News.com can exclusively report.
The two aspirants have thus collapsed their campaign teams: Aseyori and Ase Oluwa into a single campaign team for the primary election.
The Gazelle News.com gathered that the two major aspirants reached the agreement to work together on Wednesday, 26 May, 2021 and have received the blessings of their supporters.
The move by two of the most formidable aspirants has thrown the camp of the incumbent council chairman, Prince Musbau Ashafa into panic.
Prior to this, Prince Ashafa and his team have used all forms of means: persuasion, coersion and even threats to get the duo to step down and endorse him but the aspirants insisted on going for the primary because they believe in the sanctity of the internal democratic structures put in place by the party leadership.
The primary election to pick APC’s Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates takes place throughout the 377 wards of the state on Saturday, 29 May, 2021.
