Fact checks have revealed that the Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Dr Muheebah Dankaka was not questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as reported by an online newspaper and circulated on social m
edia.
Popular online newspaper, Sahara Reporters had reported on Tuesday, 16 January, 2024, that Dr Dankaka was being quizzed at the Jabi headquarters of the Anti-graft agency.
However, when this medium made enquiries at the EFCC, it was revealed that nothing of such happened.
“No, it was a lie, we didn’t quizzed Dankaka and in actual fact, she was not invited for any interrogation. Purveyors of such news are peddling lies, I can confirm to you,” a very reliable source in the Anti-graft agency told our correspondent.
Further checks at the FCC revealed on Tuesday, 16 January, 2024, that though Dr Dankaka was not on seat, she was on official assignment outside the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“These are all campaigns of calumny but I know the woman will not be deterred in her efforts to rid FCC of job-racketeering and other vices. She’s a very strong and principled woman,” source at the FCC headquarters told our correspondent.
