Justice Forum is not only the oldest but also the strongest caucus in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.
The aim of inaugurating the CWC is the need to intensify mobilization and galvanisation of party members as serious political activities draw near with the local government elections coming up in 2025 ahead of the general elections in 2027.
This, at the APC’s Justice Forum Stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday, 29 June, 2024, at Mende Town Hall, Maryland, significant leadership positions were assigned to influential grassroots mobilizers.
Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance and member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke was officially inaugurated as the Coordinator of the group in the state.
Incidentally, Faleke just won an award of excellence for his various empowerment programmes from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is one of his constituents.
Chairman of the state chapter of the All Local Governments Association of Nigeria (ALGON) and Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area, Kolade David Alabi, was appointed Deputy State Coordinator, while his counterpart in Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, was named State Financial Secretary.
The appointments were announced by a former Deputy Governor of the state and former state Chairman of the party, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye. Ogunleye is a member of the powerful Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).
Other notable APC leaders in Lagos also assumed new roles within the Justice Forum. Prince Tajudeen Olusi was appointed Leader, Otunba Busura Alebiosu as Chairman, and Prince Rabiu Oluwa as Deputy Chairman, all are members of GAC.
Other key figures include: Bashorun S. Alabi-Macfoy; first Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun; former APC Chairman in the state, Otunba Henry D. Ajomale; Omooba Murphy Adetoro; Hon. Yaya Dosunmu; Chief Bakare Olubamise; House of Representatives member representing Mushin Federal Constituency I, Hon. Yemi Alli; former Minister of State for Defence and ex-Nigerian High Commissioner in Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro; Salvador Gboyega; Isiaq Tunde; former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joko Pelumi; and Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba.
The Justice Forum also designated leaders for each of the state three senatorial districts.
In the West Senatorial District, the leaders are: Alh. Sanyaolu Mufutau, Alh. Akinola Bashiru, and Mathias Kutton. The East Senatorial District leaders are: Kehinde Salabiu Adeleke, Hon. Folami Muslim Olohuntele, and Otunba Dengel Anifowose. Leading the Central Senatorial District are: Mr. Morufu G. Ojora, Mr. Yomi Adebayo, and Hon. Kamal Bashua.
Other state executives inaugurated include: Hon. Tajudeen Agoro,Secretary; Salvador Adegboyega Adebayo, Treasurer; Rasaq Liasu, Auditor; Barr. Rotimi Ogunleye, Legal Adviser; Barr. Sunday E. Kappo, Vice Chairman, West Senatorial District; and Hon. Olugbenga Oshin, Vice Chairman, East Senatorial District.
