Federal Government has accepted to revived the long term bilateral relationship that existed between her and Republic of Spain, which
subsequently got lost, seven hundred years ago.
Minister of interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, said this during a visit to his office, by Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria Mr. Joan Soll, and Interior Attachee, Mr. Custavo Carrido, yesterday, in Abuja.
The Minister stated that Africa had the longest and the most profound relationship with Spain, noting that Africans should have a new robust relationship with the Republic of Spain, in the area of security and business for the mutual gains of the two Nations.
Speaking earlier during course of the courtesy visits, Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr.Joan Soll accompanied by his Interior Attachee, Mr. Custavo Carrido, informed the Minister that the purpose of their visits was to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Nigeria government in the area of security and international trade, and also sharing of experience with the host country for their benefits.
