The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Olurermi Tinubu, has denied reports that she closed the Aso Rock Chapel, thegazellenews.com reports.
Recall that reports had emerged over the weekend that Remi ordered the closure of the chapel because some members of the congregation did not support her husband.
Reacting in a statement issued by her aide, Busola Kukoyi, the Wife of the President said the chapel is open and holds weekly fellowship, just as she also added that President Tinubu is yet to appoint a Chaplain for the chapel.
”We wish to state categorically that this is a fabrication and totally false representation of the true situation, as the First Lady at no time gave such directive that the Chapel be shut and the keys handed over to Her Excellency.
“Presently, there are weekly fellowships going on at the Chapel.
”However, Mr President is yet to appoint a Chaplain for the chapel after the exit of the last Chaplain, as he only reserves the right to appoint a Chaplain for the Chapel,” she said.
