The President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has forwarded additional 19 names of ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and subsequent approval.
The Chief of Staff and the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajamiabila presented the new batch of ministerial nominees to the Senate on Wednesday, 2 August, 2023.
The Rules of the Chamber were suspended at 3:15 pm to allow for the Chief of Staff to enter the hallowed Red Chamber.
The new nominees included a quintet of former Governors: Adegboyega Oyetola, Osun State; Atiku Bagudu, Kebbi State; Bello Matawalle, Zamafara State; Ibrahim Geidam, Yobe State; and Simon Bako Lalong, Plateau State who was the Director General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC).
The rest are: Ahmed Tijani, Bosun Tijani, Dr Ishak Salako, Dr Tunji Alausa, Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu, Lola Adejo, Dr Mariam Shetti, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar, Prof Tahir Mamman, Aliyu Sabi, Senator Alkali Ahmed, Senator Heineken Lokpobori, Uba Maigari Ahmadu and Zaphaniah Jisalo.
