Barely ten days after his recommendation amongst other qualified senior police officers for promotion by IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and his consequent elevation from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), to the next rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), immediate past Commander of the Raider team of SCID Panti, Yaba, Lagos, Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, was on Thursday, 27 March, 2025, decorated with his new rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police by AIG Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha, Assistant Inspector General of Police, in charge of Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
Shortlisted for decoration amongst other beneficiaries, the MD Abubakar Hall, venue of the ceremony, erupted in loud ovation and euphoric choruses, when ACP Egbeyemi’s name was called out by the Zone 2 Police spokesperson, CSP Ayuba, preparatory to the decoration rituals; his immediate family, colleagues and guests, who thronged the hall to witness and celebrate with ACP Egbeyemi, couldn’t hold back their excitement for the gallant promotee, it was a massive show of fulfilment for the beneficiary and his well wishers.
Addressing the newly decorated officers, AIG Fayoade, stated that, the promoted officers, got elevated on merit, he added that, the lift in position was a testament to their commitment and excellent delivery on the job, urging them to calibrate their performance and sacrifices for the greater good of the Nigeria Police Force, to reinforce law and order in the country going forward.
The Zone 2 helmsman, warned them against complacency, maintaining that, to whom much was given, much was doubly expected; you have assumed greater responsibilities as commissioners of police in different categories, either as assistant or deputy, thus, you have bade a permanent bye bye to superintendent cadre, AIG Fayoade affirmed.
“I congratulate you all and wish you greater success and elevation from now on, AIG Fayoade said as he thanked their families and all the guests that graced the historic event,” the AIG said.
ACP Egbeyemi’s community policing prowess was abundantly re-echoed at the event place, judging by the galaxy of guests that graced the venue for his sake; the dignitaries included HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, Sarki Overall of Alimosho Local Government Lagos; Amb. Dr. Sani Salisu Danmuttaqa, Sarkin Samari of Seventeen Southern States of Nigeria; NGOs including Agege Molebi United Forum, Zenon Club; his alumni from African Church Central Primary School and Anwarul Islam College (ACAOSA), both in Agege, Committee of Friends, his colleagues across cadres to mention a few.
The newly ACP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, has been posted to head the Operations Department of the Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
