Elder Statesman and former Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Bashorun has described the installation of Asipa Kaoli Olusanya and his wife, Yeye Oluwakemi, as the Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju of Ibesheland by Olubeshe of Ibesheland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Richard Odunsanya as a honour well deserved.
In a tribute signed by the Lagos APC Chieftain, Bashorun described Olusanya as “dear brother in Christ having known him for over four decades, two of which were as close associates”.
As a family man, Asiwaju Bashorun congratulated Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya for building a strong, cohesive and productive family. One example is his daughter, Abisola Olusanya, who is in her sixth year as Lagos Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems. The Ministry which the father occupied as Commissioner for Agriculture and Cooperatives for eight years.
Bashorun stated that Olusanya has excelled particularly in politics and community services.
“A first recognition of this was why the late Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, HRM Oba Salaudeen Oyefusi made you the Asipa of Ikorodu. In politics, not only have you served as Commissioner, you also successfully supervised over the affairs of our party in the Lagos East Senatorial District for years without blemish.
“For your new cap today as Asiwaju of Ibesheland, my dear Asipa whatever Kabiyesi has listed as your contribution in cash and kind to the development of Ibesheland are very well – known to me. In addition, by setting a gigantic educational institution in his domain, you have excelled in meaningful support for the domain of Kabiyesi.
You and your wife therefore deserve to be honoured as Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju of Ibesheland, I fully support and endorsed Kabiyesi ‘s honour,” Bashorun, also former Commissioner for Education in Lagos State, said.
