This should be a significant boost for the campaign team of Hon. James Faleke, the lawmaker who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, as more than 10 youth organizations have joined forces to support the lawmaker’s reelection bid.
Hon James Faleke is the secretary of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council and a diehard supporter and backer of APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The group, Ikeja Youth Defenders For Good Governance (IYDGG), made up of a number of other youth organizations, stated that the goal of its collaboration is to re-elect the best representative to have served Ikeja Federal Constituency in order to guarantee continuation of development and growth in the Federal Constituency.
According to its Interim Chairman, Comrade Kayode Ajayi, who spoke to journalists after their inaugural meeting, Faleke has played a significant role in the development of Ikeja Federal Constituency with his sterling performance over the years hailing his empowerment programmes as not only novel but also of high value in terms of investment.
“Our coming together today as a joint group in support of Hon Faleke is because of his performance, which currently places him as the best representative ever to come out of Ikeja Federal Constituency,” he said.
“His empowerment schemes for instance are not only innovative but geared towards completely ameliorating the plights of the common man thereby lifting them above poverty, many of our members were beneficiaries of his recent empowerment of over 567 constituents in Ikeja.
“We benefited from a cash grant of over N200 million at the end of the empowerment programme, where various skills were learned, with each beneficiary receiving cash grants of N200,000 and N500,000, inclusive of full training tools.
“Due to the lawmaker’s people-oriented projects scattered throughout Ikeja Federal Constituency, we have witnessed thousands of citizens today lifted out of poverty.
“We have resolved that we do not want to see him campaign here again; he should instead focus solely on the Jagaban, who is on a rescue mission to improve our collective fortunes as Nigerians; that is a national task that our leader should focus on; he performed admirably for Ikeja, and Ikeja residents are saying today that we are voting for him because he deserves it,” Ajayi said.
