The Nigerian football community is still reeling with the sad and shocking news of the death of Oluwagbeminiyi Odegbami, son of Nigeria and Africa’s football legend, Chief Segun Odegbami.
Speaking with journalists on his arrival from Morocco from a national assignment, Dr. Felix Owolabi, a former Nigeria international star and a colleague of Odegbami, said he was sad and shocked to learn of Gbemi Odegbami’s sudden death.
“I have just arrived from Morocco on a national assignment trying to adjust and deal with the extreme and gruelling hot weather here in Nigeria, when I got the sad news of the sudden death of my dear brother and senior colleague, Dr Olusegun Odegbami’s son, Oluwagbeminiyi Odegbami.
“While it was all over the media as breaking news, it finally dawned on me when it was confirmed by Big Sheg, himself. And why would death suddenly snatch this enterprising young man away from us. Why?”, Owolabi, fondly called Owo Blow, by his fans asked rhetorically.
“My heart and that of my entire family are with you, Big Sheg. It is well. I pray that God grant him eternal rest. I pray also that the Almighty God grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he prayed.
