Imo State State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has approved the immediate removal of the state Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Chief Ford Ozumba.
The removal was contained in a statement issued on Saturday, 11 March, 2023 in Owerri, the state capital by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba.
The statement, which did not give reason for the removal of the commissioner, also directed him to hand over to the Permanent Secretary of the ministry with immediate effect.
It was gathered that public sector workers in the state, under the umbrella of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), have embarked on industrial action on Wednesday, 8 March, 2023 over alleged interference in the election of new state executives of the union.
