Eight new cases of coronavirus were announced late Sunday, 5 April, 2020 by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), The Gazelle News.com reports.
The NCDC announced on its Twitter handle that five of the new cases are in Lagos, two in Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja and one in Kaduna.
The latest report was posted at 9.30pm.
Earlier Sunday, 5 April, 2020, 10 cases were reported with six in Lagos, two in FCT and two in Edo.
With the latest update, Nigeria now has a total number of 232 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nigeria. Lagos is the epicentre in Nigeria with 120 cases, FCT has 47, Osun 20, Oyo and Edo nine each, Bauchi has six cases and Akwa Ibom has five among others.
Also a total of 33 people have been treated and discharged while five deaths have been recorded.
