Nigerian women continue to shine at the Commonwealth Games currently going on in Birmingham, England with Favour Ofili being the latest to make the country proud, reports thegazellenews.com.
Ofili won the Silver medal in the Women 200m event at the Games.
Running in lane 6, Ofili ran the distance in 22.51sec to win the Silver behind runaway winner, Ellaine Thompson-Herah of Jamaica who won the Gold medal with a new Games record of 22.02sec. Another African, Christine Mboma of Namibia won the Bronze medal with a time of 22.80sec.
Earlier, Nigeria’s Innocent Onwuzurike had came sixth in the men 200m event.
