The Leader of the Lagos State Arewa Community (LASACOM), Architect Ahmed Kabir Abdullahi has berated the Labour Party in the state for anchoring its campaign on ethnic and religious sentiment.
Architect Abdullahi disclosed this on Monday, 6 March, 2023, at Ikorodu while addressing thousands of members of the group in Ikorodu Local Government Area of the state.
According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure, the Labour Party’s ethno-religious campaign has created a dangerous Biafran irredentism and religious politics which are both inimical to the development and growth of true democracy.
“This has has already created tension in the polity which are capable of breakdown of law and order in the society.
“Fielding an IPOB member as Governorship Candidate in Lagos, amidst various threats to different people in Lagos by IPOB irredentists has already created tension and never-heard of distrust among the various peoples of Lagos,” he said.
While calling on Lagosians, particularly his Arewa people to reject the LP and its candidates at the polls, Arc Abdullahi stated that the threat of a stay-at-home order and the clamour for Ibo take over of Lagos are enough misbehaviour that lead to chaos and violence.
“How can any sane mind be thinking of stay-at-home order in Lagos? Don’t vote for them.
Don’t listen to them. Reject them. They are full of mischief. Don’t allow anybody to jeopardise the good relationship between you and the good people of Lagos state. Stand with Governor Babajide Sanwoolu. He has performed creditably,” the Lagos State Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure said.
Architect Kabir also called on Igbo leaders not to leave their leaderships in the hands of myopic thinking people who are beclouded by hatred and greed.
According to him, such people should not determine the direction of the good Igbo people to lead them astray.
