The Commissioner representing Lagos State in the Federal Character Commission, Hon. AbdulWasiu Kayode Bawa-Allah has expressed shock and devastation over the death of Nigeria’s Envoy to Kingdom of Spain, Ambassador Demola Seriki.
The Federal Character Commissioner expressed this in a personally signed statement, released in Lagos.
Describing Seriki as a friend and political associate of many years, Bawa-Allah stated that, “Seriki was an accomplished and consummate politician who served Nigeria in many capacities with his last tour of duty as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain”.
He added that Demola was a brilliant mind with many interests, top on the list of which was his passion for education.
“The political family in Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the progressives and indeed Africa has just lost a great mind filled with candor,” he said.
Recalling his last conversation with the deceased via telephone, a couple of weeks ago, Bawa-Allah remarked that little did he know that would be their very last conversation, noting that Seriki was hale and hearty while the conversation lasted.
He prayed Almighty Allah to grant the repose of the departed soul Aljannah Firdaus while praying the Almighty to grant family members, friends and associates the fortitude to bear this huge loss.
