It was the end of an era in Mushin State and Federal Constituency 2 as both incumbents seeking third term in office were well beaten by their rivals at keenly contested primary elections in Mushin, reports thegazellenews.com.
At the primary elections which took place on Friday, 27 May, 2022, at New State Primary School, Palm Avenue Mushin, Honourable Bolaji Yusuf Ayinla popularly called BYA, lost to former Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Transport, Toyin Fayinka.
At the of the exercise, Fayinka polled 18 votes while BYA could only muster two votes. Former Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Seye Oladejo scored eight votes.
In the same vein, Alhaji Yinka Esho-Kazeem defeated incumbent Lawmaker, AbduSobur Olayiwola Adewale popularly called Omititi.
At the end of the exercise, Esho-Kazeem polled 16 votes while Adewale scored 11 votes.
The leader of the Election Committee for the Constituency, Biodun Salami announced the winners and present the official results to them after the keenly contested primary elections observed by teams from: the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Department of State Security (DSS), Nigeria Police Force, Civil Defence, and Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps among others.
Both BYA and Omititi are seeking third terms in office as Representatives of Mushin Federal and State Constituency 2 in the House of Representatives and state House of Assembly respectively.
