The Chairmanship aspirant for Agege Local Government on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nurudeen Bukola Sofidiya aka Gidado has spoken of his intention to make the local government a role model in service delivery to the people, reports The Gazelle News.com.
Speaking exclusively to this medium in his campaign office, Sofidiya said that the main thrust of his administration will be empowerment of the people particularly women and youths.
“Our main aim is to produce small and medium scale entrepreneurs in Agege and this can be done by putting in place an enduring empowerment programme which lays emphasis avenues on making people self sufficient.
“One area we can do this is to put in place vocational which will not only train women and Youths but will also empower them to establish their vocations. Through this, they not only become self sufficient but will in turn become employers of Labour.
“In essence, through empowerment, we are creating avenue for multiple employment opportunities for women and youths,” the foremost APC aspirant said.
Sofidiya commended the leadership of the APC in the state to put in place programmes of events that will lead to a free and fair party primaries.
“This is laudable. Iam okay with the programme put in place by the party. It’s an avenue for the aspirants to test their popularity among party members and we are okay with that,” he said.
