President of the National Council of Women Societies, NCWS, President, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau, is dead. Hajiya Lami passed on in the early hours of today, Wednesday June 5, 2024, following a brief illness.
A statement from the NCWS confirmed the sad development, stating that her tireless efforts and contributions to the betterment of the society would never be forgotten. The NCWS also announced that their late president has been laid to rest today Wednesday 5 June 2024 in her hometown of Lau, Taraba State, in accordance with Islamic rites .
Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau was born in 1962 and lived a fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service to humanity. The late Lau was said to have been responsible for a number of empowerment programmes that relieved the suffering of many indigent women across the country.
