The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has commended the management of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, over the hosting of matches at the Lekan Salami Stadium, without any hitch so far.
The league body, however called for a extra measures for Wednesday, 12 June, 2024, Matchday 36 fixture in which the Oluyole Warriors will be hosting their eternal rivals and current league leaders, Rangers International of Enugu.
Part of the letter, titled, Re- Security and Crowd Management for Matchday 36, dated June 11, 2024, and addressed to the General Manager, 3SC read thus;
“On behalf of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), I write to commend your Management Team for a series of incident free hosting of matches until this point of the season at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba.
“The Intent of this letter, is also to draw from the most recent experience at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu and draw your attention to the very important need for extra measures for security and crowd control.
“We trust that as you host this very match of interest, your Management Team will take extra steps, to ensure safety of al persons” read part of the letter, signed by Davidson Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of the NPFL..
