As part of efforts to further cement the philosophy and vision of the tendency across all firmaments of its structure, leaders and stakeholders of the leading political organisation in Osun, Omoluabi Progressives met in Ibadan to reflect on the journey so far and strengthen their intellectual base for the task ahead.
Speaking at the event, the immediate-past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, commended the leadership, stakeholders, and members for their steadfastness and commitment to the collective aspiration of the fold.
Aregbesola noted that the Omoluabi Progressives will soon be the bedrock of responsible leadership in Africa if its leaders and members stay true to its principles and philosophy.
He also lauded the people of Osun for their love and support for the tendency, reassuring that it will produce credible and responsible leaders who will put the people first and reposition the state for development and progress, when given the mandate.
The former Governor said, “Without any doubt, we have with this kind of conferences and leadership training sessions started a new and very promising political tradition that will guarantee the emergence of the leadership that will take the black race out of the doldrums which have affected its freedom and development for centuries.
“I am convinced that history will be kind to us for being the nucleus of the revival of genuine progressive politics in the South West and Nigeria. Let me assure our people that the new leadership that will emerge from the Omoluabi Progressives fold will be the one that will see power as a huge responsibility to serve humanity with dignity, honour, integrity, fear of God and celebrate, treasure and promote democracy.
