The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended a chieftain of the party,a former Governor of Enugu state, and Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Dr Chimaroke Nnamani for anti party activities.
Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP announced this in a statement issued on Friday, 20 January, 2023.
He said seven others have been suspended along side the senator for ‘anti party activities’
Reacting to the report, the Spokesperson for the APC Presidential Campaign,Festus Keyamo has tagged the suspension a waste of time.
In a tweet on his verified twitter handle, Keyamo described the suspension as ‘cutting your nose to spite your face’. He pointed out that suspension is of no effect whatsoever at this time because the law says he remains a candidate of the party.
As at the time of writing, the senator has not issued any official statement on the issue.
