As part of her administration’s total commitment to the upliftment of widows and women in Oriade Local Council Development Area, the Chairman of the Council, Hon Ramotalai Akinlola-Hassan is set to support 150 widows resident in the council with the sum of N3 millionwith each of them to receive N20,000.
Hon Akinola-Hassan disclosed this on Tuesday, 12 October, 2021 at the council secretariat while addressing the widows who turned out in their large numbers to receive their identification forms, attires and headgears (gele) to be worn on the day of the event, which is Thursday, 21 October, 2021.
The Chairman, in her words said, “I am happy to inform all of you that our administration, in fulfilment of my electoral promise has concluded arrangement to give each of you (widows) the sum of N20,000 as cash support to enable you improve your living conditions”.
She advised the widows to make judicious use of the cash gift, assuring them that her administration will continue to support them to ensure they live a meaningful life.
Hon Akinola-Hassan pointed out to the widows that, on the day of the event, they should dress gorgeously, by wearing the clothes and headgears given to them free, and also bring along their identification forms with their passport photographs affixed to them.
The elated widows in appreciation of Council boss’ good gesture towards them, praised her with various songs and and also prayed for her continued success.
