Nigerian youths have been urged to focus more on skills acquired to make ends meet and not rely on while collar jobs that never exists.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu gave this advice in a message to the closing of the 2 Day ICT Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Training programme held at the University of Lagos, Akoka.
Represented by Hon Wahab Alawiye-King, Senator Tinubu reminded the beneficiaries that labour market is currently highly competitive and volatile.
She therefore added that the beneficiaries should maximise the skills acquired at the training to be ahead of their peers.
On his part, Deputy Speaker, Lagos House of Assembly, Rt Hon Wasiu Eshilokun-Sanni said with this gesture from the Senator, they have been introduced to the Tech industry.
He believed that the training will open doors of opportunity for them noting further that the love Senator Tinubu has for the youths is incomparable.
On his part, a member of the House of Reps from Oyo State, Hon Akeem Adeyemi
said over 700 youths from Lagos Central Senatorial District have benefitted from the training with laptops handed over to them.
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos Island Local Government, Alhaji AJ Sadiq said they are glad with the legacies and achievements of Senator Tinubu while promising to ensure victory for her successor, Eshilokun-Sanni.
He urged the beneficiaries to canvass back in their homes to vote for the ruling APC in 2023 General Elections.
One of the facilitators of the programme, Samuel Adeyinka urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity.
The 80 beneficiaries were later presented with laptops at the event.
