A truck crushed a commercial motorcyclist and his passenger were crushed to death on Wednesday, 13 March, 2023 in Ogun State.
The crash involved a Daf truck with registration number, KTG941YG and a Bajaj motorcycle with no registration number.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State said the accident occurred at about 9:10 am around Toll Gate, Bible College, Sango.
The Ogun FRSC spokesperson, Florence Okpe, said four male adults were involved in the accident.
“Two persons were recorded dead and two others were unhurt,” Okpe said, blaming the crash on excessive speed and route violation on the part of the motorcycle rider.
“The DAF truck driver travelling along Abeokuta-Lagos towards Toll Gate, Ota collided with the motorcycle rider, who violated his route and both the rider and the [passenger] died on the spot,” she said.
According to Okpe, the bodies of the victims have been deposited at the morgue in Ifo General Hospital.
