Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, believed his team would have avoided defeat to Rivers United, had his boys converted the chances they had in the encounter.
He made this submission while speaking with the media after the Oluyole Warriors lost 0-1 to Rivers United in a matchday 35 encounter played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
A scrappy goal, six minutes into the second half, was enough to earn the homers all points, but Oracle, as the 3SC gaffer is fondly called, lamented the shyness of his lads in front of goal.
“This is a game we should have taken advantage of, unfortunately sometimes you don’t have it, you don’t come to the party.
“We had the chances of going ahead in the first half. That’s always the price, when you have your chance and you don’t take it, sometimes, you pay for it and in the second half, we went to sleep,” the widely traveled tactician’ admitted.
On the chances of his team picking one of the continental slots at the end of the season, the ex Sunshine Stars handler refused to give up.
“Well we have two homes and one way game, just like every other team, the important thing is until it is over, it is not over, we will go back home and pick our pieces, and see what we can get from three, maybe we can bounce back. That will be a good thing for us”, concluded the veteran sweat merchant.
