A Muslim scholar has advocated for all Muslim faithful to be extremely productive and also channel their productivity in the context that would be beneficial to their afterlife.
Ustaz Abdul Rahman Olaniyi Lekki stated this at the 5th edition of Eid-Ul- Adha get-together organised by the Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community.
According to a statement by the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Lagos Assembly Muslim Community, Alhaji Ahmed Oyasipe, the scholar stated that productivity is the positive and constant energy which leads someone to take practical steps to achieve one goal after another.
The renowned cleric said, “Productivity starts with taking a simple step of action, focusing on your task at hand until you complete it. Productivity comes naturally with excitement and passion”.
Ustaz Lekki, who is the President of Zero Interest Multi Purpose Co-operative Society noted that productivity in economics measures output per unit of input, such as labour, capital or any other resources.
He however advised all Muslims to rededicate themselves to venture in a productivity that would produce positive results rather than engaging in a negative one.
“If you are productive, that means you do a lot, create or produce large amounts of things.
Ustaz Lekki who was the guest lecturer at the occasion commended the Leadership and management of the Assembly for choosing the topic ” The Productive Muslim” saying that it would assist most Muslims to achieve their desired goals.
Earlier, Imam Abdush Shakur Osoala appreciated the league of imams and the entire Muslim Community for organizing the event.
He added that the aim of the Eid-Ul- Adha get-together was to bring Muslim brothers and sisters together to interact, assess themselves and move closer to the Almighty Allah.
“Allah who created the entire universe and that Muhammad ( SAW) is His final messenger on earth” he said.
The programme was well attended by Muslims within and outside of the Assembly.
