For those who do not know my boss, Hon. Rasaq Akanmu Olusola Ajala, very well, his recent victory as the Lagos State Man of the Year (LASMAYA) in the contest organized by the Center for Policy Development and Political Studies might come as a surprise.
However, for those of us who are closer to him and are well-acquainted with his capabilities, it is anything but surprising.
The award, organized by the Center for Policy Development and Political Studies, is renowned for its objectivity. It is created to pay tribute to excellence, aiming to identify, recognize, and project genuine role models in Lagos State.
Hon. Ajala is not merely my superior; he has become an integral part of my professional life. I am so attuned to his thoughts and expressions that I can effectively communicate his ideas. This familiarity is why I rarely need to record his voice during interview sessions in my role as his media aide.
Since I began working with him, I have learnt a great deal and have adopted many of his virtues.
Hon. Ajala has been overcoming challenges since his early years, embodying the spirit of a destined achiever who has survived numerous adversities and navigated many difficult hurdles.
His journey from winning the position of councillor to represent his ward during the Second Republic, to being appointed as the Vice Chairman alongside his mentor and brother, Hon. Taofik Adeyemi Alli, for three consecutive terms, exemplifies his leadership acumen. His tenure as the Executive Secretary of the LCDA and his current role as the Executive Chairman of the same LCDA further attest to his capabilities and signal a man destined for greater achievements.
Hon. Ajala is a person of unwavering focus and determination. He does not entertain the notion of impossibility. His work ethic is unparalleled, often leading me to marvel at his relentless drive and question whether he ever rests.
I consider myself fortunate to be associated with him, and I am confident that this achievement is merely the beginning of even greater accomplishments. As I celebrate this new milestone with him, I do so with immense humility and optimism for the future.
Congratulations to my boss, Hon. Rasaq Akanmu Olusola Ajala, Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, and the latest Lagos State Man of the Year.
