A former Governor of Enugu State and Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Dr Chimaroke Nnamani, has lost his bid to go back to the Senate.
Nnamadi, who ran on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 48,701, to be defeated by the candidate of the Labour Party, Kelvin Chukwu, who secured 69,136 votes.
The election in the Senatorial District was postponed and it eventually took place on Saturday, 18 March, 2023, alongside with the Governorship and State Assembly Elections.
