Barring any unforeseen development, Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, will today, Sunday, 6 October, 2024 swear in the newly elected local government chairmen into office, thegazellenews.com reports.
The swearing in of the newly elected chairmen would hold at the Executive Council Chambers of the state’s Government House in Port Harcourt, by 4:00 pm.
The Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo made this disclosure in a statement issued on Sunday, 6 September, 2024.
The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, declared the winners of the local government elections, with 22 of 23 LGAs won by the Action Peoples Party (APP).
“His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Governor of Rivers State, will today Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear-in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4:00 pm.
