The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has sent a strong warning to those planning to cause trouble in the state in the aftermath of recently concluded elections to have a change of hearts or face the full wrath of the law.
Spokesman of the party in the state, Mr Seye Oladejo who gave this warning at a news briefing in Ikeja on Thursday, 30 March, 2023, said the state will not allow a repeat of the sad memory of EndSARS where public utilities, many expensive property were wilfully destroyed in the name of protest.
Reacting to the recently concluded Governorship and State Assembly Elections in the state, Oladejo stated that the fact that there were pockets of violence in some areas in the state does not amount to calls for cancellation of the elections as being canvassed by the losing opposition parties.
He advised those who lost out in the election that rather than trying to cause violence and chaos, should do the right thing and table their grievances before the Election Petition Tribunal.
Oladejo noted that the fact that BVAS recorded 88% success in polling units across the country in the last general elections was clear indication that the election was free and fair.
On his part, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso said Governor Sanwo-Olu will not shy away from keeping the people together irrespective of their tribes and religions.
He said people with divisive motives must not be allowed to destroy the heritage of the state like was the case during the EndSARS protest.
Omotoso said that it was irresponsible on the part of anyone to whip up sentiments because they lost out in the last elections.
