The Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community has congratulated Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his declaration as the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Council of Imams led by Sheikh Abdush-Shakur Adeleke Osoala thanked all Muslim brothers and sisters and Nigerians generally for their support during Saturday, 25 February, 2023 Presidential election.
The clerics also appreciated Almighty Allah for His guidance and protection throughout the polls.
This was contained via a statement signed by the Secretary of the Assembly Muslim Community, Alhaji Ahmed Oyasipe.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made the entire Muslims proud by virtue of his past achievements as a former Governor of the State, as a great visionary leader who has contributed to the progress of the nation, a peaceful and tolerant Muslim and a detribalized Nigerian who is very accommodating to all. This victory is a testimony of people’s choice and believing in the Almighty Allah.
“You are a true Muslim brother and a great Yoruba leader who has over time fought to protect and guard Democracy in the country.
“Lagos Assembly Muslim Community would forever remember you always in their prayers and we pray that the Almighty Allah would protect his entire family and members of the All Progressives Congress party”.
The clerics called on Lagosians to come out in large numbers and vote for the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Alhaji Kadri Obafemi Hamzat during Saturday, 11 March, 2023 governorship polls.
“We Muslims in the Assembly have mobilised our congregants at ensuring that victory is certain for all members of the Lagos State House of Assembly who are returning with massive votes,” they said.
The Council of Imams therefore charged the President elect ASIWAJU TINUBU to embrace peace, dialogue with all the other parties and Nigerians, and rule with the fear of the Almighty Allah.
“We advise Lagosians to embrace peace and assuring the non- Yorubas to go back to their normal businesses and remain calm as adequate security has been provided for the people of the State,” the statement said.
It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission at the early hours on Wednesday, 1 March, 2023, declared Tinubu winner of the poll having won with total number of 8,794,726 votes.
