The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said on Sunday, 1 September, 2024 it has returned, rebranded and rejuvenated, with a commitment to constructively engage the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
The newly inaugurated state Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Tijani Aruwa, who stated this while addressing newsmen in Lokoja, kogi State capital, emphasised that PDP is ready to provide a viable opposition to APC, to ensure that the state is not dominated by a single party.
Aruwa appealed to members who defected to APC, Social Democratic Party(SDP), Labour Party(LP), and African Democratic Congress(ADC), to return to PDP, stressing that the party’s umbrella is large enough to accommodate everyone.
He also called on those who didn’t secure their desired positions in the recent party elections to demonstrate sportsmanship, emphasising that every position is temporary and should be secondary to the interests of the suffering people of Kogi State.
Aruwa criticised APC’s mismanagement of state resources, noting that despite increased allocations, the state has little to show for it.
He reminisced about PDP’s inclusive government, which achieved more with meagre allocations.
