At least, 7,000 security agents, including the police, army and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), would be deployed across Ondo State for the general elections.
The state Commissioner of Police, Oyediran Oyeyemi, made this know on Tuesday, 21 February, 2023, shortly after a meeting with the heads of security agencies in Akure, the state capital.
Oyeyemi disclosed that security operatives were being deployed for the election amid the scarcity of fuel and naira crunch.
This came as the Administrative Secretary and acting Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo State, Mr Oyetola Oyelami, revealed that 17,562 ad hoc staff had been trained for elections in the state.
