Following the completion of the round of 16 fixtures in the on-going FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Argentina on Thursday, 1 June, 2023, the football governing body has confirmed that Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will take on South Korea in the quarter-finals, just as it also confirmed other three fixtures for the quarter finals.
South Korea defeated Ecuador 3-2 on Thursday night, 1 June, 2023 to book a date with the Flying Eagles while Uruguay defeated Gambia 1-0 to continue in the competition. The two countries now joined: Israel, Brazil, Colombia, Italy, Nigeria and the USA in the quarter-final stage.
The Flying Eagles quarter-final clash with South Korea comes up on Sunday, 4 June, inside the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades, Santiago del Estero at 6:30pm.
It will be the third meeting between both countries at this level.
In their first meeting in Netherlands 2005, the South Koreans defeated Nigeria 2-1 while the Flying Eagles won 1-0 at the 2013 edition in Turkey.
The quarter-final fixtures will be played on Saturday, 3 June, and Sunday, 4 June, 2023 in Argentina

Israel vs Brazil – Saturday, 6.30 pm
Colombia vs Italy – Saturday, 10 pm
South Korea vs Nigeria – Sunday, 6.30 pm
USA vs Uruguay – Sunday, 10 pm
