One of Nigeria’s foremost Historian, Professor Obaro Ikime is dead, reports thegazellenews.com.
The foremost academic died on at about 5.30 pm on Tuesday, 25 April, 2023 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
His death was announced by one of his protege, AM Akpieyi who described the late Ikime as his mentor, Head of House and Head of School, while they were both students of the famous Government College, Ughelli.
The late Historian was survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Hannah; his sons: Mazino and Maino; and daughter, Majiro.
The late Obaro Ikime was of the 1950 set of the famous Government College, Ughelli.
