An HIV-positive teacher has been accused of defiling and sexually-harrasing 14 pupils of the primary school where he teaches in Niger State, reports The Gazelle News.com.
The teacher, Alhaji Usman Galadima was reported to the management of Central Primary School, Karabonde in New Bussa, Borgu Local Government Area of the state of defiling the pupils at different points in time.
Five of the pupils alleged that Galadima actually raped them.
This medium learnt that the pupils were between the ages of seven and 10 and are in primary two and three.
According to reports sourced from The Nation newspaper, two female pupils first reported to the Headmistress of the school, Hajiya Memunat Tanko, that their teacher has been fondling them. Three weeks later, another set of pupils reported the same teacher on similar allegation.
The school management had to set up a disciplinary committee and the committee discovered that indeed Galadima defiled the pupils.
Parents of the pupils reported the case to the Borgu Emirate Council and the Social Welfare Department of the Borgu LG which referred the matter to the state Child Rights Agency in Minna.
During cross examination, Galadima confessed that he indeed defiled five of the pupils, kissed some, asked some to show him their underwear and he asked the others to play with his penis.
